There are many excuses: “Dutch people immediately start speaking English when I try to communicate in Dutch. All my colleagues speak English. I have few Dutch friends and acquaintances. Dutch is a difficult language.”

Language barrier

Yet, you’d like to participate more fully in Dutch society. Sometimes you feel left out when your neighbors are chatting. You’d like to help your child with schoolwork and communicate with their friends. You’d like to join a club, but the language barrier is a problem. You feel uncomfortable when Dutch people have to switch to English when you join in.

Dutch isn’t difficult!

Stop making excuses! There are no valid reasons to hide behind. Learning Dutch isn’t difficult. It doesn’t have to take a lot of time. Learning a new language is a challenge and ultimately offers many benefits. Admittedly, Dutch isn’t a global language; its language range is limited. But to find your place as an expat and participate in Dutch society, understanding and speaking the language is essential.

Speaking in class

Dutch Language Lab Delft offers courses for expats, students, companies, organizations, and others interested in learning Dutch as a second language. At Dutch Language Lab Delft, we offer courses for both beginners and advanced students. With us, you’ll learn to understand and speak Dutch quickly and accurately. The emphasis is on having the courage to communicate in practice. The combination of studying at home, reading and listening, and having conversations in class has proven successful, particularly for highly educated students.

Small Groups

At Dutch Language Lab Delft, we work in small groups. The goal is to quickly learn to understand, speak, and have the courage to communicate in practice. We use the Delft Method, known for its effectiveness in learning Dutch quickly, thanks to its clear and structured approach.
